Marie Chalita is a passionate, detail-oriented journalist and marketing strategist with a variety of experience in top publications and media.
She is a seasoned content strategist with over 15 years of experience in both digital and traditional media. Marie has managed every aspect of social media and content production from digital, SEO and Social Media Editor and strategy to actual production, copy writing & editing.
Her digital experience started in 2001 with the launch of the first free Spanish ISP and portal for 13 countries in Latin America.
She transformed the social media accounts for top US Hispanic magazines like Cosmopolitan En Español, into top 10 US Hispanic’s most engaged magazine fan pages leading to a ‘Best Latino Facebook Fan Page Community TECLA Award’ in 2015 and a nomination for that same category in 2016.
Marie has spoken at national-level conferences on the topics of journalism and blogging and is an award-winning social media influencer and mentor for USH organizations who showcase their work in the digital multicultural space such as the ‘American Association of Advertising Agencies,’ ‘Hispanicize,’ and most recently ‘We All Grow.’ Her work has been nominated for a ‘Top Latin Content Marketing Campaign’ in 2016 from Portada’s Latin American Advertising and Media Awards.
She also participated by judging rounds for the Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards in 2016 and 2017.
In 2015 she consulted for multinational company Mondelez formulating and executing an integrated social media campaign for belVita Latino; aimed at building deeper engagement with Hispanics.
The belVita Latino brand increased consumer reach by 80%, and generated over 275 million impressions as a result of their Spanish-language campaign, strategically curated and adapted to the USH market.
Marie Chalita served as part of the organization i-com, a forum for exploring data & measurement with the goals of showcasing meaningful innovation working toward consensus on best practices.
